Sana's Favourite Place Excursion

Everyone has their own one special place, a place where you can be you, where you can find peace and harmony. A place where you feel happy and comfortable being there. For some it’s a quiet place, for others it might be a hustling, bustling, full of people and movement place. But all of these places have one thing in common, they are places where you’d run to in times of both joy and misery.

DayB's "London" excursion

It was very unusually excursion. Was a typical London weather: the sky is grey, was a drizzle.
Our park was like the one of the London's parks - the largest park in London.I think tourists are struck by parks beauty. I'd visit Hyde Park  If I were in London.

DayB's "Dreams" excursion

We trained expressions from our "home reading".
I liked the walk under the bright sun. it is good for health . Our teacher pointed out our mistakes. This history  excited everybody's interest.

DayB's "Grammar Tenses" Excursion

It was our first excursion. We were a little surprised but we had a good time.
The people gazed at us and we a little bit worried.
We started talking and we walked under the bright sun.

Anna's "Manderley" Excursion

We told about Manderley, Daphne, Mr. de Winter. These characters are from "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier. We've learnt many new words, compared our reality to her dreams. In the whole, It was wonderful excursion. We're walking along the streets.
1.It seemed Daphne that Rebecca's soul to live in house.
2.Daphne wish she didn't meet Max's friends.

DayB's Favourite Place Excursion

Our park is very comfortable. I'm sure everybody will be comfortable there. Our park differs from London parks and the difference is a vey great. I can gaze at park for hours, because when I looking about I see the green threes, lawns and flower-beds.A urban hustle gets on my nerves and the parks silence calms me.
I used to meet my friend in it. We liked to sit under a bright sun. We weren't bore to death it.
It seems to me the people must treat the park carefully. Our park is in a terrible condition now. We must keep the park clear like london park.
Our park excites tourist's interest. It always interesting for tourists to turn out in our small but beautiful city.

Bairta's Favourite Place Excursion

Hooray for First Independent Excursion!

Well done!

I like the photos. But I think we need some more explanations using more details.

Why do you believe these pictures prove your love for this very place?
They were taken near your favourite classroom, weren't they?

Could you add several sentences more?

Alex, did you mean this very song?
Why did you choose it? Did you sing it at school?! It's a real surprise for me!

Anna's Favourite Place Excursion

My favourite place is Park "Friendship". Why do I love this place? I like this park, because it's quiet, calm, wonderful place. Many people gather by the statue of Buddha. This place attracts crowds of visitors from abroad every year. A lot of sport competitions happen in Park "Friendship". There're many green trees, flower-beds, benches, monuments, statues there. Our park is smaller than Hyde Park, certainly. But it's very comfortable and nice. The old people come to it in order to talk with other people, breath with a fresh air, and rest from city bustle.
A lot of children, young and old people should gathered in park If we had had a river or many different attractions. If I were a tourist I'd take many photos by the monuments and visit "Immortal Fire".And If I were a foreign student I'd talk my friends from my country about this park.

Basil's Favorite Place Excursion

Aleks's Favourite Place Excursion

In these days off I have visited the most remarkable place, my school. Very colourful memoirs at once have gushed. At school I have met teachers, acquaintances, friends and the schoolmate. I was very glad to see everything, but especially the schoolmate we remembered the most interesting and remembering moments from school life.
Interesting eleven years have very quickly flown by:
       School remarkable days.
With friendship, with the book, from songs,
        As they quickly fly...

Baira's Favourite Place

Certainly, I have my favorite place. They say, east or west, home is best. I totally agree with this statement.
My favourite place is my yard. When I am looking about I see many people who are sitting on the benches. They enjoy a bright sun. When the children are playing their parents gaze at them.

I'll look forward to meeting my friends in order to talk with them. If I were a child I should play more often.

Our yard is always in a good condition. It's unlike all other yards.

I am used to thinking about my yard. It was my memories about my yard that made me smile.

"My Favourite Place" Excursion

Our seventh excursion (Unit 3)

Work independently!

Choose your favourite place.
e.g., Mine is this fountain "The dragon with the boy".

Take 3 - 5 photos of the selected place from the different sides. Try to avoid photographing people, especially children!

Describe the place using the 10 (at least) phrases from the stories about London.
You cannot leave the city without visiting...
Children gather by...
I like the way the boy helps the dragon...
The fountain attracts crowds of visitors from...

Add some more phrases from Conditionals:
If it were Saturday, there would be a lot of tourists from the nearby cities.

Explain why you prefer this very place.

Publish the post with the images.
Be creative!

Aleks's "London" excursion

London is the capital city of England and the United Kingtom.About 7 million people live.London is home to numerous museums, galleries, libraries, including the British Museum,National Gallery,British Library.

DayB's "Life Curcle"

It was so interesting because we learned more about each other. Our monologues consisted of important people in our lives, dates, places. We stood around a circular fountain(it was very useful )
We was a very bright and energetic kids.
This topic excited everybody's interest.
But weather was a very bad.We shivered with cold.
On the next week we walked again.

ANNA'S "Life Circle" Excursion

The excursion was fine! We're talking about our childhood, favourite places, important events, dates. All stories were interesting and exciting. I've known many facts from life of other people. We've  understood  the most important things such as we must help our relatives in any situation, nevertheless how difficult it's. Don't forgive  our friends, to support one another and  to solve all the problems together.
As I've said before,  the excursion was good, but the weather was dull. The wind was too cold. Because it's  usual autumn now.But it isn't main.

Basil's "London" excursion

I'd like to tell about our last excursion dedicated to London. I have mixed feelings. From the one hand the weather wasn't very nice, little tourists from some nearby city were staring at us as if we were rare exhibits in museum... From the other hand we took a trip around the Pagoda in a train. It brought me some tranquility. It would be much better if there was noise of railway. I think it is very relaxing. That's about my attitude to this excursion.
So... What about our converstaions... We were discussing foundation of London, its places of interest, its views etc. Finally we concluded that London is well worth seeing.
Elista is not so interesting as London (as for me of course). But it gives you a great possibility to see Budhist buildings in Europe. It's much cheaper to visit Elista than any chinese city.
Easy way  to learn something about London (eh... Jimmy Wales is always asking for money but never mind)

Aleks's "Life Circles" Excursion

Important person in my life my mom.People whom I have not seen a lot of the time this is my best friend's.This is the persone with whom I grew up.My first teacher Bairta S.

Sana's "Oh! London, London!"

Not so long ago, we went on a trip (or excursion) to London. It was so cold...

DayB's "London excursion"

Our "London excursion" was so unusuall and interesting.
Firtsly-was a tupical London weather.
Secondly- we went on the mini-train.
Thirdly- we were attacked by crazy kids.

We tolk about London's sightseeings, ancient architectures, etc.London is an ancient city. about 7 million people live in Greater London. London is the house of nation's commerce and finance, legal system and the press. Every year attracts crowds visiters from home and abroad. There are many museums, cathedral, old buildings, and the famous Trafalgar square.

Baira's "Grammar tenses"

Our route
It is our first excurcion. This excurcion was very interesting. We were walking near the university. We were talkig about university, Pagoda and park.

Baira's "Daphne" Excursion

"Daphne"

Bairta's "London " excursion

Unfortunately I wasn't  in last excursion but I tell you about my impression about London.I believe that the main thing in  London  is the weather. Why? Because London is  famous for dark sky with low leaden clouds.Just that day there was similar weater (as my fellow matestold me ) and it  was  very fluctuating.

British Attitude to Weather

Last Friday it was so cold that there were hardly any smiling faces at the excursion!

I find this link useful because there's a section about the attitude:
Talking about weather  (read and enjoy)

So, according to the advice given by the native speaker, let's think of some more possible answers...(publish your comments/posts)

One more fascinating link - from the BBC: watch, listen and enjoy!

ANNA'S "LONDON" EXCURSION

The excursion was so wonderful! We're driven in the excursion train. I felt myself like a child:) The weather was overcast. I think,it's symbolic. So the English say "Other countries have a climate,in England we have weather " . It happens because the weather changes more often than in other countries.
We're talking with each other about sights of London. But,also we're discussing our city. For example, London has the largest university. But we have the main university too. It's Kalmyk State University. Many students of other countries study in it.
I've known many interesting facts and history this city. Then i can say London is an ancient city. This city has long history of foundation. It's one of the famous capital cities of the world, and every year attracts crowds of visitors from home and abroad. There are many nice squares in London. Trafalgar Square is one of them and it's in the centre of the West End.
There're many museams, libraries and galleries in London. The famous clock is situated there.Big Ben is really the bell which strikes every quarter of an hour.
In conclusion I should say if you're lucky enough to find yourself in London some day you'll have a lot to see and enjoy there.

Baira's "London" Excursion

Our excursion was very interesting. The weather was terrible. The weather was cloudy. It was raining. The train was bright and large. I have known many interesting things about London. There are several large museums. Special tourist buses go around London. London is famous city in Great Britain.

"London" Excursion

Our sixth excursion (Unit 3) has been quite different from the previous ones.
First of all, it was raining.
Secondly, we were driven in the excursion train.
Thirdly, we had to pay 50 roubles

(£1/$1.67/€1.25) for that 15-minute ride.

The train
I hope everybody has been greatly impressed!

Sandbox

Could you guess why I've chosen this very pic? What does 'sandbox' symbolize?

DayB's "Dreams" Excursion

Daphne dremt about Manderley. We walking in the park, reading  her dreams and were compared the expression  from book in reality with casual tone. The sun illuminated the momumet, trees crown meshed above our heads, was a fine day. We saw flowers in bloom, the gates with ornaments on which we mentally attached the words. The teacher said: if we looked at it you'll remember these words

Aziza's "Grammar Tenses"

It was our first tour. We left the university and went outside. I and the guys went to the pagoda. Pagoda is very beautiful.
Shops are along the red fence. Shops yellow.
Pagoda was closed and we could not go inside. We looked at the pagoda talking and discussing it among themselves.
Pagoda was being cleaned. Pagoda is one of the most important places in our city.

Baira's "Dreams" Excursion

Dreams
Her dream was amazing. She dreamed the Manderley. Manderley is estate her husband. There was lilac in bloom, grey stone. The window was dark curtains.

Basil's "Dreams" Excursion

There was hardly a single cloud in the sky. we left university in order to talk about dreams.
our rout started at the stage near the university. town was being arranged for the celebrity. we walked by iron gates, by lenin's state where chestnut trees were.
and what about our conversation. we talked about daphne's dream. she was in manderley again. she stood enchanted before the mansion. she felt tranquility there. mansion looked breathing and living as they had left it just a few days ago. there was some kind of shadow of their presence. dapne remembered everything: cushions lying on the arm-chairs, piles of books on the table and Jasper (her dog) wagging his tail. but then she woke up and her good mood abruptly disappeared. daphne went to mrs van hopper reluctantly.  she didnt get on  with her. or she even hated her.

Anna's "Dreams" Excursion

September 14. "Dreams" Excursion

Daphne is simple and usual girl. She has a short, straight hair. She wears teenage clothes. But she's dreamful girl.Daphne dreamt about Manderley. She imagined a huge estate, beautiful rose garden, lilac in bloom. She walked like enhanted in the garden. She felt like supernatural powers helped her to jump through gates.
Daphne liked a fresh air in Manderley. Also, she wanted to make friends with good and kind people there.
The weather was always so fine in her dreams. The blue clouds spread over her head. Her ears listened singing of birds.
But she knew the reality wasn't so.Daphne hated Mrs.Van Hopper, because her curiosity was a disease, almost a mania.Sometimes she would employ Daphne as a bait. She was a terrible woman. And when Daphne was so tired, she plunged in her fantastic dreams. So she was so happy girl in the whole world.

Bairta's "Life Circles" Excursion

On last week we went to excursion about "Life Circles". I was impressed teacher whom desired study us. Certainly I liked  this tour. Else I think that such spending time is  very useful for studets. One student was very artistic we were hearing him open-mouthed.

At the begining, as my memory recalls, we tell about the first life circles. Teacher said:" Imagine that we were walking in other place". And еасh other we told abour our life.
As the saying is,excursion a success!

Sana's "Life Circle" Excursion

We retelling each other a stories about our past, childhood. I mean the Life Circles. It was interesting to listen my group mates about their past and their important person's in their life...

"Admin" Experience

Today everybody was given the "admin" status. So, the results are:

students' posts inside the earlier posts;
a lot of mistakes;
disappearance of some posts (they were found as drafts later: Sasha, thank you for their recovery!);
a lot of fun.

I found this free clip-art image rather quickly.
